Bae Ji-hwan goes to Triple-A for a rehabilitation game after shaking off a wrist injury

Bae Ji-hwan of the Pittsburgh Pirates will conduct a final inspection for his return.

Pittsburgh coach Derek Shelton said in an interview ahead of the away game against the Tampa Bay Rays at PNC Park in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, on the 22nd (Korea Standard Time), that Bae Ji-hwan will play a rehabilitation game in Triple-A from that day.

Bae Ji-hwan was on the injured list due to a sprained wrist ligament after an away game against the Toronto Blue Jays on the 3rd.

Since then, he hasn't held the bat in his hands for a while, but in the meantime, he has maintained his physical condition by steadily playing defense and baserunning, and as a result, he is back in action 19 days after leaving the injury.

The situation is encouraging in that he is going back to the real game. "It is very exciting news for the rehabilitation players," said Todd Tomczyk, director of sports medicine at the Pirates who is in charge of rehabilitation.

It is not yet known how many games will be played to return. Since the gap was not that long, the rehabilitation period itself is likely to be short.

The question is whether he will be able to come back immediately after finishing the rehabilitation game. He previously had a minor option while playing a rehabilitation game at Triple-A due to a hip injury.

Pittsburgh left because of the same wrist injury, and infielder Alika Williams, who played a rehabilitation game first, was sent down to Triple-A during the rehabilitation game.

The road to Indianapolis won't be lonely. I have colleagues who are going with me.

Martin Perez, the starting pitcher who left the team due to groin muscle injury, will start his rehabilitation game at Indianapolis one day later on Sunday. Tom Chick said he will pitch around five innings. 토토사이트 순위

Perez has pitched 57 1/3 innings in 11 games this season, going 1-3 with a 4.71 ERA. He was injured during defense at home against the Atlanta Braves on May 27.

Shelton said, "We haven't decided how many rehab appearances we'll take, but he needs to be rehabbed. He's one of the important recruits last offseason, and it's very important for us to have him back in the rotation," adding about Perez's return.

Catcher Joey Bart, who left the team due to finger injury, will also play in a rehabilitation game. Bart will play as the designated hitter on the day, and a day later, he will play as the catcher and receive Perez's ball.
